ABOUT BRANDYBERRY HOUSE

Lori Dawn Coker

Founder of Brandyberry House, organizational consultant, leadership developer, and author of the Executive Office Operating Model, Lori helps organizations strengthen leadership, improve organizational effectiveness, and intentionally design the executive office through consulting, leadership development, speaking, and practical organizational frameworks. Drawing on experience in manufacturing, executive leadership support, human resources, operations, and organizational development, she brings a practical perspective shaped by real organizational challenges—not theory alone.

Lori Dawn Coker has spent her career doing the kind of work that rarely earns headlines but consistently determines whether organizations succeed or struggle. She has built executive offices from the ground up, designed communication systems that hold complex organizations together, and developed the professionals who make it all function — often invisibly, always essentially.

Her background spans manufacturing environments, where she learned the discipline of operational systems and the human cost of organizational dysfunction, and executive leadership, where she applied those lessons to the highest levels of organizational life. She has worked alongside executives who lead with clarity and those who struggle to — and she has learned from both.

What distinguishes Lori's work is her refusal to separate the operational from the human. She understands that the systems an organization builds are expressions of what it values — and that the people who maintain those systems are not overhead, but the connective tissue of organizational health.

Brandyberry House is the culmination of that career — a platform for publishing what she has learned, teaching what she has practiced, and contributing to a field that she believes deserves more rigorous, more human, and more honest conversation.

A Career in Practice

From the floor to the executive suite

Early Career

Began in manufacturing environments, developing a foundational understanding of operational systems, production rhythms, and the human dynamics that determine whether organizations function or fracture.

Executive Office Practice

Moved into executive support and office operations, where she built and refined the systems, communication frameworks, and leadership practices that would later form the basis of the Executive Office Operating Model.

Organizational Leadership

Expanded her work to encompass organizational culture, leadership development, and the design of high-functioning teams — bringing operational discipline to the human dimensions of organizational life.

Brandyberry House

Founded Brandyberry House as a platform for publishing, teaching, and advancing the field of executive leadership and professional development — bringing together everything she has built, learned, and practiced.

Philosophy

The beliefs that shape the work

I

Clarity is an act of leadership.

Ambiguity is not a neutral condition — it is a cost. When leaders operate with clarity of purpose, structure, and communication, the entire organization moves with greater confidence and less friction.

II

Operations are the expression of strategy.

A strategy that cannot be operationalized is not yet a strategy. The executive office is where vision meets execution — and that intersection deserves the same rigor as any other discipline in the organization.

III

The people closest to the work hold the most knowledge.

Executive support professionals, operations leads, and organizational practitioners carry institutional knowledge that is rarely codified and almost never celebrated. Brandyberry House exists, in part, to change that.

IV

Mastery is a practice, not a destination.

Professional excellence is not achieved and then maintained — it is continuously cultivated. The most effective leaders and practitioners are those who remain students of their craft throughout their careers.

The Name

Why Brandyberry House?

The name Brandyberry House carries personal meaning — a nod to roots, to place, and to the idea that the most enduring things are built with care over time. A house is not just a structure; it is a system of relationships, responsibilities, and shared purpose. That is precisely what Lori has spent her career building inside organizations.

The publishing house tradition — deliberate, curated, committed to quality over volume — reflects how Lori approaches her work. Not everything deserves to be said, but what does deserves to be said well.
